Re: Series 2 Weird parts

He must have taken the film in to be developed immediately after taking the photo. Picture the scene, next morning, Dagmar's flat: Barry: Has anyone got any spare coins lads? I know I've lost all me money, passport, motorbike and all me other worldly possessions and I've no idea how I'm going to ge...

Well that's nothing, you can just see Bomber's mate from Teignmouth's fox's brush peeping out from his arse.

Re: Prequel...

I think there is nothing wrong in seeing it done then decided if we hate it or not. As we all know the history of the characters, I wouldn't be surprised if we would easily relate to and enjoy the prequel. The main worry would be - would we accept the new younger actors? Richard, I wouldn't be down...

Re: Series 2 Weird parts

Right. This is a bit pedantic and trivial, but after a bit of a break I decided to have a run through series two again to cheer myself up. So the scene where Barry is taking the photo of the 'lads' was a clever plotline tool, in terms of setting the scene for ROT7 part one. The only problem for me ...

Re: Series 2 - How different could/would it have been

I expect Den and Vera still to be together, since as well as the 'dinner with Norma/Vera' we also hear Den say he's going home to see 'our lass' which always means wife/gf (not sister), at least up my way anyway. But, the relationship would surely have been strained since one can't imagine Den worki...

I believe the correct word is "blimper" and GH just says it wrong. Think I heard it used in a Minder episode.

Re: Worse Moments In Series 1? or series 2?

Most cringeworthy moment is the last scene of Series 1 where the geordies are on the boat home. The way they all belly laugh at Den's hadrian's wall 'joke' is out of character and a feeble way to end the series.

Re: Tacked On Scenes?

I think that's a great spot. Exposition, the TV types call it, obviously added in for those who jumped on the bandwagon. Had series 1 been repeated by the time series 2 aired for the first time? Good question Adolf. I can't remember. Be interesting if anyone can answer this. :) Not sure what the po...

Re: Things that make you go hmmm

When Barry arrives on his bike, where are his tools? I can see a brickie surviving with a level, trowel, chisel and hammer of some kind, but can a sparky really fit all his essentials in a rucksack along with his spare pair of undies? Kind of like what Bomber tells Colin: "Your bed don't take up muc...

Re: Tacked On Scenes?

We knew the score yes but did Bomber? He only just met up with them again that night. Have I got that reet? So yes, he needed to be filled in. "So he gives up Dagmar and ends up with nothing." That way he is up to date and the audience. OK, I'll go and boil me head !!! My point is there's no need f...

Re: Tacked On Scenes?

If it has been added later, then note the background noise is quite consistent. Is it possible that the 'pub noise' has been added too and is not coming from the extras? Yes, it's very common, even back then. They call it "Foley". They probably took the background noise from the original pub scene ...

Re: Tacked On Scenes?

No, it's clear from the up-close angles and the subject matter that those shots were filmed and added in afterwards. There was no reason for Nev to tell Bomber at this point, and we the audience already knew the score. I suspect this replaced dialog between Nev and Bomb that didn't fit the revised s...
