Last week I've finished reading The Gobbler by Adrian Edmondson. The book focuses on Julian, an alcoholic womanising actor whose career is tightroping following a supposed suicide attempt. To make matters worse he has to put up with his wife Wendy's friend from university, a pretentious stage actor called Tom who is trying to get together with Wendy. Wendy, on the other hand, makes friends with Carly who is far more than she actually makes herself out to be.
I found the book an intense but hilarious read from one of Britain's greatest alternate comedians. That said, the book can also be slow in places as well as very dark towards the end. 8/10
