Been Christmas drink shopping today.
Plenty of the usual stuff
and......
my own little treat for xmas day... following Lou's advice and recommendation...
a Jeroboam of Prosecco from Aldi to go with my Cointreau.
Bloody hell! Is it the ginormous bottle cost about £40?

Well summer's here for the moment so I fancied a cider
Found a Smirnoff Cider with Raspberry & Pomegrante.
Three 500ml bottles for £5.25, bit pricey compared to my usual tipple but verrrrrry nice
Mixed one of them with my home made Rose wine to create 'Son of Power Shandy'
What a great idea that was at the time..............

This is my current tipple. Lidl’s own.
A ‘grapefruit aroma with notes of zesty citrus fruit’. Bloody love this stuff. 5.5%. It’s bitter tasting but light and not sweet at all.

I was on white wine and soda for a couple of years but recently binned off the soda. A really nice easy drinking red wine is Morrison's The Shy Pig range. They do a blush one as well. Gin and tonic is still the fave tipple though but it must must must be served in a proper fishbowl gin glass and always with ice and a slice

You know what lee, I think a lot of the "cheaper" supermarket versions are better than the branded drinks. I much prefer the aldi version of baileys to the real thing. And their version of dissarano is better too. I think it's called ammaretto.

Ordered my Christmas pressie from myself over the Black Fri weekend.
It's a Perfect draught machine which takes 6 litre kegs.
Ordered 4 different kegs to try with it as part of the really good deal they offered, along with 2 Leffe goblets.
Waited in all day and it finally arrived at 4pm.
Couldn't wait to try it out so unpacked everything and there was 4 kegs and 2 glasses, no machine, gutted.
Will update on taste once I've got the machine. Anyone else got one.
Looks like it would be great addition to any hut...….

So, finally got my perfect draught machine up and running.
I've decided to have a religious evening in respect to the Premonstratensian canons of the abbey of Notre-Dame de Leffe, who founded the brewery in 1240
Therefore tonight I will be...
Drinking Leffe Rituel 9, a deep golden beer with grain, spices and hints of bananas at the fore, and a hop character balancing the 9% ABV
Using my Leffe, Trappist style, chilled nucleated glass which I am informed will accentuate the aroma release.
Eating fish and bread (fish finger butties)
Watching Sister Act.

I'm going to say yes, I could taste the banana, but that might be because I had read it in the description.
The first gob full was like a taste explosion, something I'm not used to. It's like discovering beer all over again.
The religious theme continued with me saying 'God this is nice' out loud a number of times, but didn't end up with me speaking to him on the great white telephone, despite the 9% ABV.
I honestly can't remember drinking anything as nice as this, went down easily but deserves to be treat with respect due to it's strength.
Overall a wonderful drink, perfectly conditioned and dispensed by the machine.
I have 3 more kegs to try once I've finished this one
Tiny Rebel Clwb Tropicana
Tripel Karmeliet
Kwak
I reckon the lads would approve
