Ally's Villa and Spanish labour laws

Post by DiventFret » Thu Dec 05, 2013 8:07 pm

I'm on series 2 at the moment and it's got me thinking.

Ally went to a lot of trouble getting the lads on the 'payroll' to do up his villa. He had Hallwood looking at Spanish labour laws, and gave back handers to locals there. They had to pretend to be tourists, and so on.

Why did he not simply pay them in cash, in the U.K, then have them doing the work? They would then simply be working on the place 'free', for 'a friend', and all would have been much simpler? It was only a few weeks work after all?

I'm off for a Fundador...

I think he did, because in Hasta la Vista he tells the lads that they'll be paid as per usual, as per Dennis, as per.....back here. He also says they'll be given a little bit if 'walking around money....'

I get it though, why not just say they're his mates?!
