How did you get into it?

Saw episode 3 at my nan and grandad's house. They loved the show and mentioned it to me. I was unimpressed by the sound of it " a German programme", why would a 13 year old want to watch something like that? 20 minutes in I am hooked and have been for 33 years.

A friend of mine at high school in 1983 (who incidentally died last year) told me that it was an awesome series. He likened Oz to another hard case in our class- who is incidentally English. I live in NZ.

The channel 4 screening in the mid 90's when I was about 11. My dad told me about how great the show was and I watched it with him and loved it. Oz was such a shock but I loved him straight away. If I remember rightly, there was a gap between series 1 and 2 when 4 showed them which was annoying.

My Dad used to have the tapes of the all when they came out. I first watched it seriously around the millennium. Became a big big fan when the 4th series was aired

First watched it a few days after it first aired.
I was working on an oil rig in the North Sea at the time as a young lad.
On that particular rig there were 2 TV lounges, a BBC one and an ITV one.
The evening TV shows from both channels were recorded and then sent out by helecopter a few days later and played in the lounges.
The show was very popular from the start.

My social worker recommended it to me in November when he gave me a lift into college, said it would be right up my street.

Watched a few episodes online and was struck me was Oz and the camaraderie of the group spirit, proper lad atmosphere.
