Typical of the mentality of some people who spoil it for everyone else. As mentioned previously, can't really blame the owners.

I will admit I find it a strange one.
When I first went in 1995, I was quite scared of driving down the long road/driveway to Beesthorpe, as I didn't know what sort of greeting would be at the other end.
Looking back, I was very respectful, and simply knocked on the door asking if I could take a few pictures. The welcome was great and I was invited in and given a tour.

Anyway, what I am getting at is I would not have even attempted to walk around the back of the property, and for many reasons.
The police turning up, a massive guy coming out with a gun, a mad old woman threatening me with a broom, or who knows.

Thankfully it was none of them.
The problem I have is, I can maybe come across on here as a right bottom licker as I run the site etc etc.
I am not. All I am trying to do is make sure as fans, we can get to see, take pictures and admire these locations for many years to come. Sadly, a couple of people have ruined this now, and I feel quite angry that other fans cannot go an visit.

I hope this long rant, makes sense.

Lee, i often feel it is a bit too nerdy to be still nostalgic for a show, when you think about it, first and second series which we would all agree are the iconic ones are getting on for 30 and 27 years old respectively.
Afterall i have got a pretty serious job as a senior manager in a company, but hold AWP close to my heart.

I and i bet others on here will feel a bit weird for loving a show that many people will be able to recall, but not in the detail some of us know and love it and so embrace what we like. Nothing gives me more pleasure than visiting a location that was filmed in the series and is a great tragedy that this has occurred and i might not ever be able to visit Thornley Manor or other key locations in the future, as it must get harder as the years go by to justify mithering folks to visit these locations, especially as it is a private property.

But you are correct, we must respect folks wishes and leave them in peace and hope that in the future they may be open to the idea of an organised fan site open day, it's a nice thought that i hope we will be able to achieve some day.

I promise that if i win the Euro Millions, i will buy up all the properties featured in the series for the fans to spend themed weekends at...lol.

Maybe the owners should have signs on the entrance and then regularly down the track informing people that it's a private residence and under no circumstances should anyone approach the building because a lot of people may not know people are living there now. i'm in no way condoning the actions of the thoughtless fools that trespassed but maybe they weren't fully aware of the circumstances because as Tim suggests they aren't members of this site so they won't have the info we have.
