Were any of the lads religious?

Post by carl01 » Mon Aug 03, 2015 12:01 am

During a series two re-run I was struck by Barry's comment about such behaviour not being tolerated 'outside the sanctity of marriage', which got me idling wondering - were any of the lads religious in any way? Barry's knowledge of the walls of Jericho could also mark him out as the most pious of the group, and then of course there was Oz's spurious 'depth of conviction' regarding Hedley Irwin's funeral arrangements.
Any more evidence of religious leanings, or were they a bunch of heathens through and through?
From now on I'm sticking to a worse type of bird.

What a brilliant question.
Something I have never really thought of, and I'm not quite sure if any of the writers are religious.
I think Barry might have been a touch, and he also had strict rules about 'doing it in his house', so yes I would put Barry down as being religious. As for any of the other lads, I reckon Wayne might have been also. Did you see how he combed his hair at the wedding?

When Barry is cooking breakfast at the Manor, he is wearing a green top. Bomber says he looked like a green goddess, or something like that. Barry replies, "No, green Christian me mate !" :)

So it's looking good for Saint Barry then.
Mind you didn't Bomber say he was becoming more 'spirtual' in Arizona?
