when Bomber (in the Cross Keys) says something along the lines of "you're only the gaffer on site, you cant be responsible for the irresponsible actions,,,,,,etc, sounds like he's reading a narrative from a fortune cookie

Can't believe no-one has yet mentioned Douglas, the new tenant of Oz's flat. So wooden and monotonous it's unreal.

"Jean! Get yersel in here. So this what goes on when I'm on the back shift"

Douglas was good, its the 1-2 second point where he and Oz look at each other and both think, 'Who's this' ... CLASSIC! 'Got your feet under the table quick enough didnt you!' Whilst kicking his legs out the way.. :P

Didn't Douglas and Oz team up in an episode of 'Spender'?

I dont know if it was Spender or not, but many fans always say 'Douglas' was a vicar in something.. may have been that..

For me, the most annoying acting is from the younger copper when they first arrive at Thornley Manor. Thankfully he doesn't have much to do, but what he does makes me cringe. In particular the bit where Hallwood sets him up with the 'anything else I can do for you?' line, and he turns around, dramatically pausing before relishing the 'where do we eat in Newcastle?' reply, barely suppressing his smugness at such a BAFTA-winnig performance.

Douglas, on the other hand, is a classic cult-figure and I won't hear a word against him.

Ive just watched Douglas in Spender, and he is actually spot on as someone who grasses on a gangster!
In Pet, its a great performance for just the few scenes he's in.!

I always disliked Douglas's scenes. The lad is from Fencehouses, but what accent is he trying to do?

Yeh and the gangster is none other than Howard Radcliffe himself! Great episode that one!
