First ever episode where the car breaks down, Neville inspects and informs bottom of the sumo has dropped out, new engine etc etc. Then you see Oz and Dennis go round the front of the car and you see Neville take some gear out the back of the motor and while he does this you can hear Denis say to Oz 'If we get this fixed in a German garage etc etc' Then about 5-10 second later you get that same sentence muttered by Dennis except with the camera now focused on then. Just thought it seemed strange why Dennis needed to say them things the first time when there is clearly no camera filming them.
Hopefully I have explained myself properly, scene starts at 16.41

Re: A scene within a scene
I noticed this a long while back.
I guess its just playing along, and that is what was happening in sequence.
It must have been easier for Tim and Jimmy to do there lines, other than just stand there and do nowt.
I do always wonder how they filmed this scene.
The hard shoulder of the Autobahn must have been pretty dangerous back then, just guessing they had a Police Patrol or similar moving the cars etc over 1 lane and away from the crew.

If you look it seems Dennis is in two different positions when he starts with the line 'If we get this fixed .......'AlreetPal wrote:Also noticed this. Must've been filmed with two cameras simultaneously.
Re: A scene within a scene
I think they always use only one camera when out on location - vision mixers are only used in studios.
