Danke!
I firstly have to say a massive thank you to Howard Radcliff for all his help during the Fan Gathering. The presentation was just fantastic, and if you were there, you will know what I mean like. I could not have done anything without him, so there you gan!
Tim you were a power house over the weekend, selling tickets and interacting with fans and being the host. I never thought a couple of years down the line we'd be doing what we did. I always appreciate your help, you have helped me immensely over the past couple of years, and turned the site and Forum into bigger and better things.
It wasn't easy but I think everyone agreed it was worth the effort.
I got some great feedback from the event, and I don't just mean about the Gathering, I mean about the site as a whole and what the fans, not just me have created.
Meeting Stan again was just great, the man is a true gent and presented me with a few gifts during the weekend, both of which will be appearing on the site soon.
Big Baz! I mean what do you say, the man was just great!
I shared 'Tea and Toast' with him on Saturday morning, and we had a chat about Pet and how it was just a big part of his life. He talked about Pat and Gary and how great they were. I would never have thought that back in 1992/93 when I first really got into Pet, that 21 years later I'd be sat in a Hotel in Nottinghamshire chewing toast with Big Baz. Now that is just crazy!
The Fan Gathering was a huge achievement for the site.
It's always very daunting trying to attempt anything like that, and like Andy said on Saturday, we didn't take any money from the event, we sold tickets at a low price just to cover our costs. We didn't get into this for making 'big bucks', it was about showing the fans what we have managed to dig out this past several months.
The fans were great, and I managed to try and get round many and say hello.
We said just a few days before the event that there was not a chance we would ever do it again, not a chance. Strangely on Sunday morning we had a chat with Stan, Tim and Big Baz and talked about what's next. We threw a few ideas around and it started a few brain cells working again.
It was tough, very tough not just for me but for many others pulling this whole event together, but it was worth it.
'Well there's no more room for anything else except to say.....'
Thank you.
