I think if anything it sounds like more of a big fan meet up rather than convention, as conventions need some WAD in wallet's to be funded..

The Barley Mow is a very small pub though, and even if only 50 peoples turn up it will be chocka. of course you have the carpark to spill out into but i'm not so sure the pub will be keen on that in fear of upsetting the locals. it's hard to judge how many people would actually turn up, you give numbers of people that turned up for events in Newcastle last weekend but that is a long distance to travel for a lot of people whereas Nottingham is a lot more accessible for the whole country.

I also think many peoples reasons for not attending a couple of last weeks events could be the same as mine, i can watch any episode i want, when i want so why pay for a screening of an episode where i expected to hear everyone around me saying all of the lines..... and as for the bus tour, there weren't a lot of scenes shot in Newcastle compared to Nottingham, so i wasn't willing to pay to see a lot of 'Likely Lads' locations and also i live in the Newcastle area so i can go at my leisure.

You sound like Richard Hill.. He thinks of AWP more as Nottingham due to the amount of filming done there.. Didnt you go to the Brickies Banquet?

Whaaaaaaaaat??? £10 to watch the fans favourite Auf episode with fellow like minded enthusiasts in an intimate Tyneside cinema on the big screen is a snip! Not to mention a great introduction from co-producer of Channel 4's 'The Tube', Chris Phipps.

And then see and hear several inside stories from writers Ian La Frenais and Dick Clement plus Director Rodger Bamford, and Executive Producer and Format Creator Frank Roddam...

What would you rather do with £10? Buy two and a half pints???

I’d pay £10 just to be in the same room as those guys!

yeah Tim i attended the banquet, i seen you milling about but i'm not really the type of person to approach people to engage in conversation. I do feel AWP is definitely more Nottinghamshire than Newcastle, yeah a lot of the main cast are from Newcastle but there was a lot more filmed down your way as we all know. I used to think it was more Newcastle when i thought places like 'walker street school' was actually filmed in Walker, Newcastle, but over the past couple of years i've learned (mainly through this site) that a lot of what i thought was filmed up here was actually doon there!

I hear what you're saying Howard, but i was in the same room as them during the banquet evening and that was sufficient for me, also i work 3am - 3pm on a saturday so it was never an option for me anyway. The cost of the screening was never an issue as you would pay a similar amount to go watch some crap american attempt at humour in the cinema these days so i agree, the price was more than reasonable.

I really liked the screening.
I will never watch 'Private Lives' the same way again. It was like having a 'Laughter Track' running, and the lady next to me was constantly giggling, and it might sound annoying, it wasn't. I was loving how she was loving Barry and Wayne trying to have a night of passion, and going tits up.
Great 2 hours in a fantastic cinema, and enjoying it with friends.

Agreed... NEVER again most likely with that happen.. thats part the reason i like going to the cinema when theres something good on at least, because you get a crowd enjoying it with you, most the time.. at the cinema it was a good atmosphere.. wasnt disappointed with it until the Q & A... expected more than two questions total..

And 'BigwillyOsborne' you should have said hello..
