Now, I think RHill said the building was a School, or looked like a School.
I always had it in my head that it was an Industrial Site/Building, don't know why.
I have been looking at Schools in Elstree area and nothing comes up like this. So it could have gone now, and house also.

I don't know Borehamwood at all is it at all possible that the building is part of the Elstree studios and they just picked the house because it was nearby?

I wondered if this would be any help

It might be an industrial site. I just assumed it was a school because it was so close to the house whereas industrial areas are usually not opposite houses like that.

We think that this was in Clarendon Road, Borehamwood. Sent some emails out and questions on Facebook. Many think it was 'Norlands' and it was a warehouse for bathrooms. Myself and Tim have been looking and it's possible it's right. If anyone fancies it, see if you can find anything about Norlands or pictures, cause we can't.

It could be Clarendon Road, Borehamwood cos that type of garden wall looks popular there

Yes Rodoz, when we started looking Tim found that wall. We also had Statuon Road and another but nothing up there is anything like it needs to be. We are pretty confident it's Clarendon Road. Still looking into Norlands but nothing yet.

Done a bit more digging.
If it is Clarendon Road, and possibly number 23? (had garden wall rebuilt, unlike 21 which still has the wavey bricks), then opposite used to be the Keystone Knitting Mills built around 1927. http://www.theundergroundmap.com/map.ht ... fullscreen
In the 1950s part of the factory was sold because Italian stockings, seamless and nylon, were flooding the British market. In the early 1960s it was taken over by Alicia Hosiery.
In the early 1970s the factory closed and moved to south Wales, and the premises taken over by a greeting card factory and car valeting service, then possibly Wickes (until they relocated). All were eventually pulled down mid / late 80s to make way for the Boulevard 25 retail park and Neptune Court (aptly named and built in 1989) which would now be right opposite Dens old gaff.

Been in touch with Elstree museum.
I explained that we are trying to identify a location of a certain AWP scene and the best info we have is that it was probably shot from the hallway of a house (possibly No 23) in Clarendon Road, Borehamwood, looking across the road at what would now be Neptune Court. The scene was shot in 1983 and shows what appears to be a warehouse of some sort. Could they possibly tell me what was there at that time. Any info would be really appreciated.

Dave the Museum Manager and expert on all things Borehamwood thinks (without me mentioning Norlands) that it was Norland (Norlond?) Services Building Supplies and kindly sent the only pics they had.

They suggested we ask on the Facebook page dedicated to Borehamwood called ''Borehamwood Not Elstree''. Don't know if you've tried that particular group Lee?

Thanks to your help we have tracked down the exact house now, it's 23 Clarendon Road! The owners daughter got in touch, she's going to ask her parents who still live there for some pictures. Whether it be during filming or as the house used to be.
