FOUND - Barry, Oz and Neville at Sir James's House.

Post by Auf Wiedersehen, Pet » Mon Jan 28, 2013 6:01 pm

Neil Rigby, the man who is responsible for many of the locations on here, does not think the part where Barrys and Oz drop off Neville is Bunny Hall.

Google Street View is not good for this location, but Bing Maps is. If you take a look using the link below, you will see there is not a location like this near Bunny Hall.

He thinks it was filmed around Caunton.

Im not surprised with this to be honest.. as Bunny hall has had development around it and next to it, but i still cant work out the road where Barry drove up even if we saw the land before development.. maybe we have a new version 'Chatterley's' to seek out! Wonder if it could have been part of Denton?? Going to have to see what we can find again.

I have been thinking about this today.
Neil sent me the info when I was at work so couldn't get it online but had time to think about it.

Now by the look of the building, it does look like it could be listed, so it will still be standing. One thing that sticks out for me is the Glass House/Conservatory.....

It has always bothered me this one.........

It has me too, but when Chek said i could'nt head in i just assumed it was the place and didnt look more into it, I spoke with an older mate a short while back about locations when trying to find the Mobil station, and he also said at the time something about a 'Wyverton Hall' , i looked it up and found it had very similar features of Thornely Manor, especially with the 'island' of grass out side.. may have to look at this too..

May have got the name wrong with the hall, because places in search results are different, something that's W------------- Hall in Nottinghamshire area, and no, it wasn't Wollaton..

Just spoke to my mate, he said its Wiverton Hall, Bingham.. this is just a place to look at and compare.. similar to Thornely as i say in posts before.. might not be it at all, but is in the right area they may have used.

Ok, I'll have a look at it.
I have spent the last hour looking over Caunton, Knipton  , and Knapthorpe etc....but haven't found anything yet.

Its the same as Mrs Chats, because you dont know if the drive and house are linked.

For the last couple of hours ive been looking at listed buildings, Grade 1&2 in Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire, and even Newark and a few other places.. where ever this place is it seems to be set in HUGE grounds, when Nev get's to Sir James's look out the window in the house, it goes on and on with fields.. and it is a location shot, as you can see the tree branches and such blowing about... Another 'Chatterley's mysterious one i think.

Striking resemblance, expect the door part stick out too much, but weird, very similar.
