Greetings From Scotland....

Post by ruggedscot » Tue Mar 05, 2013 10:55 pm

Well I was a regular on the yahoo group but that has died a death - thought it was all over and that people had moved on - not so ! I dont know how I found this site but by eck was I ever pleased ! nice to be around folks that get it, that appreciate the program and understand it.

So here I am looking forward to meeting you all and getting to know the forum.

I loved the program and also the new episodes - they just added onto the lore of the program watched the first series and then little did I know that a few years later Id be in Bosnia and living in a hut - well a corimec and sharing life with a number of other guys - then I realised just how close to reality they were.

Attached a couple of pics - one was my room at Sipovo and the other was out shared rest room that also had our bar area. Many a story from there I can tell you. I was the site sparkie so would be out and about through the day fixin things and generally trying to keep out of harms way. The squaddies were great and those poor buggers were four or six to a 'mec. and did it ever get warm in the summer and bitterly cold in the winter.

Careful Tracy, don't piss off our new member with your ignorance of his beautiful country - Berwick is in England. Perhaps "I don't want to read about Aberdeen or Dundee yer pillock!" would be a more appropriate welcome.

RuggedScot, you'll find a more respectful - but still amusing, entertaining and informative - atmosphere here, unlike on the old yahoo forum. No behaving like bairns here, and no pinching crayons. At least so far... :D

Lee keeps us in line - he's our anchor, Trev

OOOPS ! No offence there RuggedScot. I didnt mean it to come out like that. I had a friend who used to ride for the 'Berwick Bandits' in the British Speedway League and it was just meant to be a term of endearment. Thanks for pointing that oot Gary! Roight, my round...
