Unless AWP doesn't strictly qualify as a sitcom? Maybe it's under another category.

Not deemed to be a sitcom obviously, otherwise it would be in the 100.A comedy drama they call it,same as Minder.

Steptoe at 15! Joke's as good a word as any.

I agree. Steptoe should be in the top 5, I'm surprised the Vicar Of Dibley is. I wonder if the bad press that was focused on Wilfred Bramble a few months back has affected this.

There are a lot on the list I wouldn't class as sitcoms.
This was from 2004.

Look at where Alan Partridge is. 42? Well beaten by 'The Thin Blue Line'. Personally, I think this list is a load of old bollocks. :|

I wouldn't class AWP as a sitcom, therefore, its ommission from this list neither surprises nor bothers me.

However...

'the New Statesman' beneath '2 Pints of Lager & a Packet of Crisps'?
'Phoenix Nights' at 36??
'(Whatever Happened to) the Likely Lads' at 23???
'Father Ted' ootside the top 10????

In conclusion, Gentlemen, the list is an Ass.

Ta-ra for a bit.

Aye I agree, that list is a load of bollocks!
I see Nightingales made it in, and that was a strange but funny show.
Haven't seen it since it aired all those years ago, might have to get the DVDs.

I think it fair to say that's a very mainstream poll. Nice to see Blackadder at number 2 though

Personally I always thought Fawlty Towers was overrated compared to some of our other greats

I like Blackadder, but 'Chelmsford 123' was much better as a historical comedy - doesn't make the list at all! (unless i missed it - i did check twice though)

And the Gaffer's right, 'Nightingales' is well worth digging out. I didn't think anyone remembered it. Extremely surreal, but also very funny in parts...
